The tourist office have this afternoon published the new logo for the village and ski area.

Bikepark opening weekend.

The tourist office in Les Gets have announced the following.

 

The Bikepark of les Gets will be able to make its opening weekend of 1 and 2 June 2013 through important work realized on the ground despite the difficult weather conditions of the past few weeks.

The Chavannes Express chairlift will be open (opening hours: 9 h - 17 h 30).

The Nauchets sector is still too snowy for an opening.

Open trails:

-The freewheel (red)

-Squirrels (green)

-Canyon (black/Freeride)

-The Mini Jump Park (red, partial opening)

-The 4 Cross (red)

A special rate ski lift mountain bike € 10/d. (single tariff) will be applied for this opening weekend.

The Opening weekend event (concert, cycling, tests) originally planned for this weekend is cancelled.

 

End of season dates.

The tourist office have asked that we pass on the following information.

Les Gets and Morzine lifts will close April 14, 2013 at the evening-

With regard to the area of the Portes du Soleil the Swiss side will close on 14 April in the evening.

Chatel and Avoriaz will close April 21 in the evening (Avoriaz will keep part of its area open until 28 April depending on snow conditions, TBC)

We can therefore confirm that the Chritiania in Les Gets will be open until breakfast on the 15th of April.

With the great snow fall in late January and early March we are sure of great conditions in Les Gets until the lifts close on the 14th of April.

Family Friendly Les Gets

FAMILY FRIENDLY SKIING IN LES GETS, FRANCE

Les Gets has received the review below from femalefirst.co.uk which was looking at the best ski resorts in the world.

Part of the larger Portes du Soleil ski area, Les Gets is a small, friendly resort that offers over 650m of slopes catering for everyone - every Thursday morning there is a traditional market where the local farmers sell their products. In the evening holidaymakers can enjoy a glass of wine in one of the bars around the floodlit outdoor ice rink in the centre of the village.

4 x 4 event this Saturday and Sunday

This Saturday and Sunday the Portes du Soleil 4x4 club are hosting an event based at the Les Perneres care park which will feature more than 60 teams who'll be taking on the circuit's different technical challenges.

On Saturday Night there will be a free concert and fireworks.
